Swanley War Memorial
Swanley War Memorial is 100 years old this year. As we approach Remembrance Sunday in November you can learn the background to the men remembered. Swanley History Group’s tribute book to the local Fallen of WW2 is now available for £9. ‘Swanley World War 2 Remembering the Military and Civilian Lives Lost’ contains detailed biographies, newspaper reports, photos and family memories of the 28 men named on the WW2 Plaque on Swanley War Memorial, other men with local links not named on the memorial plus 13 local civilians who were killed in bomb and rocket attacks. It is a follow up to our 2018 book Swanley War Memorial The First World War The Stories Behind The Names ( Copies still available for £8). Walking Netball is a slower version of the game we all love. It has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level. Walking Netball can give those who feel isolated an outlet, provide an activity for those who do not deem themselves fit
