On 24th April a rematch was held at The Olympic, between Swanley Bowls Club and Swanley Town Council. In the previous encounter, Swanley Town Council managed a surprise win in a closely contested game.
When the rematch bowled off, Swanley Town Council hit the ground running and took an early lead.
However, it was not long until Swanley Bowls class shone through, and they took command of the match. The final score was Swanley Bowls Club 44-23 Swanley Town Council.
Through a raffle and cake sale, the event raised funds for the Mayor’s charities. It proved to be a big success with £230 being collected.
The Mayor Cllr Lesley Dyball said “I am very grateful to Swanley Bowls Club for hosting this charity match.
I would also like to pass my thanks onto The Olympic staff for their input and selling of raffle tickets.”
Venue Manager Kerina Keir added, “Today was great fun, I would like to thank all those who attended the event and hope this is only the start of a friendly sporting rivalry and an annual Charity Bowls match.”
