Swanley Town Council currently operate a Senior Passport to Leisure programme which takes older residents over 60 and living in Swanley on trips or activities each month at discounted prices.
On occasion, there have been some places available on these trips which have remained empty.
The town council is now opening up this programme for residents over 60 of Hextable, Farningham and Crockenhill to take advantage of this opportunity.
Assistant Manager of The Link Mrs Helen Searles who is the organiser for these events said ‘It makes sense to fill empty spaces with other residents who live close by and will allow friends living in adjoining villages to now travel together which I think is great’.
Responding to requests from local residents the younger partners of those wishing to attend and residents coming from outside the Swanley wards will also be permitted to purchase tickets however they will not benefit from the subsidised rates offered to Swanley residents.
Up-coming trips include a river cruise in Abingdon, a trip to Southend-on-Sea and a theatre trip to see An American in Paris along with many more events throughout the year.
For more details and to check whether you meet the criteria for attending these events please contact Helen Searles on firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 03000 421 270/ 03000 421 254.’
