On 12 November 2017 Swanley Town Council working with The Royal British Legion held the annual Remembrance Day Parade from Swanley Town Centre.

More than 200 people turned out despite a very cold wind blowing.

The Sea Cadets Band led the Parade followed by dignitaries, uniformed groups and the general public.

The dignitaries included The Mayor of Swanley Cllr Laurence Ball, Douglas Horner DL and The Rt Hon Sir Michael Fallon.

The Wreath laying ceremony took place at the War Memorial and this was followed by a service of Remembrance in St Mary’s Church.

Local residents have been knitting poppies over the past few months.

This carpet of poppies will be on display at St Mary’s Church until Friday 17 November and we would encourage people you to go and see this.
