Parks Director Ryan Hayman who had spent 2 years turning around the fortunes of Swanley Park has now taken a new post as Resort Manager for Diggerland in Devon, which left Swanley Town Council with a vacancy.

That vacancy has now been filled by Mr Pete Goddard who took up post on 2nd December and is straight into project managing a new range of initiatives, including: £340,000 Splash Pool, new £46,000 Rugby facilities, £46,000 Softplay facility and the setting up of a Doggie Day care centre.

Peter said ‘There is certainly a variety of tasks here so I don’t think I will be getting bored any time soon and I hope I can add more value to what has already been achieved’.

Ex serviceman Pete has a wealth of experience having organised events for Harley Davidson UK and Xerox Ltd in addition to running his own Public House.

He will move to Swanley with partner Diane in the new year just weeks away from the start of a busy season of activities.

The CEO of Swanley Town Council, Mr Steve Nash, said, ‘we had some excellent candidates for this position and I am sure Peter will acquit himself well’.

Swanley Town Council has only been running the park directly for the last 3 years and has seen a huge increase in visitor numbers going from 500 a day to over 3000.

The 65 acre Green Flag Park is the jewel in the crown of the town council and the pride of local residents with boating lake and miniature railway among its many attractions.
