The Cygnet Club has been chosen by the Mayor of Swanley Cllr Paul Darrington to be his charity for his term of office.
The Cygnet Club is a social club for adults with learning disabilities for Dartford, Swanley and the surrounding area.
Cllr P Darrington said “Having visited the Cygnet Club and seen the excellent work they do to support people with learning disabilities in our community, I had no hesitation in selecting them as a chosen charity.
The social aspect of this club is very motivational and I was most impressed with the friendly atmosphere and support given to their members.”
The club meets on a Thursday evening between 7.00pm and 10.00pm at the Leyton Cross Social Club, Wilmington, Kent, DA2 7AX.
The club provides a range of activities for its members including organised trips (when Government guidelines allow).
The club benefits members and allows families and carers a few hours respite each week.
Membership is £4.00 per week to cover costs but your first week is free so it is well worth popping along to say hello!
Please check first to make sure the club is open.
