Great British Spring Clean

The first part of the Great British Spring Clean took place on the 3rd March 2017 in and around Swanley.

There were 5 teams of people out in the rain picking up litter from various locations.

Some 35 bags and a van full of rubbish were collected. This included 100 empty wine bottles, a trampoline and some builder’s rubbish.

In all about 1.5 tons of rubbish was collected.

We would like to express our thanks to those volunteers listed below for all their help in assisting staff of Swanley Town Council to make the day a success.

Toni Roast the Civic Manager for Swanley Town Council said ‘it started out a cold wet day but all the volunteers were brilliant and really got stuck in.

I hope we can make this a regular event to keep our town looking its best.

We would also like to thank Sevenoaks District Council for the loan of equipment and for agreeing to left us have a dust cart on Saturday 4th March from 8.00 – 1.00 free of charge.

This will be located in the Civic Car Park, St Mary’s Road, Swanley.
