11343 PARKS AND OPEN SPACES MANAGER REPORT
To comment on the report and ask questions of the Manager.

Parks and Open Spaces Manager gave an update and said looking at the report we will have to remove some trees from some of our sites. However, we are looking to replace them within Swanley Park and other sites such as; Swanley Recreation Ground; Elephant Park; and Archer Way which will be for the Queen’s Jubilee planting scheme. We will also be looking to replace the loss of trees from the last Jubilee planting scheme within Swanley Park.

The boating fleet upgrade, we have looked at potential suppliers and for the type of boats we require there appears to be only one supplier in the UK, however, we will be looking further afield.

It was suggested that money was put aside in next years budget for tree planting – and it was agreed that provision would be allowed for this in next years budget.

It was generally agreed that the park has performed well this year and a round applause was given for the award received during the year.

Swanley Park now has a changing places unit and thanks was given to the CEO who helped privately fund raise some of the overall costs. Local charities really appreciate that the Town Council have invested in these facilities.

The first section of the path is complete and the councillors are looking forward to the seeing the new pathway installed behind the lake early next year.
CEO, Mayor, Parks and Open Spaces Manger and Soft Play Manager will be opening the facility on Tuesday with Need 2 Change. The supplier has asked for the press release, and will share this with the quote “every park should be like Swanley Park”
