Swanley Town Council has been awarded the Quality Council Award by a regional panel of judges after applying for the accreditation just a few weeks ago.
The award recognises the work of the council in delivering services to its residents, investing in its staff, supporting local initiatives and following correct procedures, amongst other things.
The CEO of the council Mr Steve Nash said ‘I am very pleased we have obtained the award and it’s good to know that external professionals have confirmed we are doing a good job, although we already knew that’.
The award is an evidence based test which also looks at the qualifications and training of both staff and councillors and their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The next step is to achieve the Gold Standard which the Town Council hope to do over the next couple of months.
