DISTRICT PLANNING POLICY SUBMITTED

Sevenoaks District's blueprint for the future development in the District, the Core Strategy, was submitted to the Government for independent examination last week.

The Core Strategy is part of the Local Development Framework and sets out the planning policies and how the District can be developed and protected up to 2026. The Strategy sets out what development can happen, where it can take place and what requirements it has too meet.

The document was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on the 3 June and the independent examination will consider whether the document is sound and consistent with national policy.

The submission documents and all other supporting documentation are available to view on the Council’s website at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/csexamination. Alternatively hard copies can be viewed at Sevenoaks District Council offices and public libraries throughout the District.

The documents will be examined in public at the Council offices most likely during Autumn 2010.
