 SAVE KASH THIS SUMMER
Residents, with help from Kent Action to Save Heat (KASH), can keep their houses cool this summer and warm in winter by making sure their homes are properly insulated, and now is the perfect time to do this.
The KASH scheme assists Kent residents by providing a service that can tackle all major energy saving measures. This ranges from grants and discounts for loft and cavity wall insulation, to advice and assistance with central heating improvements and renewable technologies such as solar panels.
After emerging from the worst winter in 20 years most people are looking forward to warmer temperatures, but some may not be aware that now is the best time to consider insulating homes if the house isn't already insulated.
Tackling home insulation now means that residents will not only be prepared for winter but they can also benefit from some cooling benefits that a properly insulated home will provide. Keeping your home cool in the summer will also help reduce electricity bills by reducing reliance on cooling devices such as fans and air conditioning units.
The project is being delivered by environmental agency CEN (Creative Environmental Networks). CEN’s energy experts are able to advise residents on a range of energy saving measures and can arrange for free surveys for loft and cavity wall insulation.
Louise Shrubsole, the Chair of the Kent Energy Efficiency Partnership, stated: "One of our main motivations is to help Kent residents save money through energy saving improvements in their homes. The KASH scheme is a simple service that provides free support to Kent residents and we would encourage as many people as possible to make use of it."
